Introduced by a mutual friend, Abby and Jonathan's relationship developed quickly as the pair bonded over a mutual love for music, good food - and cats!
Searching for the perfect industrial space for their nuptials was a tough one, despite Auckland having some amazing spaces on offer. However when the couple went and saw The Upper Room, they fell in love with the exposed ceilings and the well-used floor and could see its potential to be used as both a ceremony and reception space. The appeal was very much in both its raw character and the natural light it provided.
Being one of those girls who has always been interested in weddings, Abby had a distinct theme in mind and her and Jonathan worked to refine the overall look together before approaching the amazing stylists, Two Foxes. The duo were after an industrial look, with the contrasting softness of greenery and the use of natural materials such as linen. They also wanted to include gold accents and cats (in some shape or form!). Two Foxes helped to bring their vision to life perfectly - and Abby and Jonathan enjoyed being able to showcase their love and personality through these unique little styling touches.
Abby's dress was another thing she had been dreaming up for a while and - made by John Zimmerman, it turned out exactly as she had ever wished for. Choosing the gorgeous lace for its scalloped quality, it made for the perfect long train. She also wanted something that felt and looked vintage.
The pair's favourite aspect of the day was just being able to enjoy the whole process - they had decided from the start to get Two Foxes help so that they wouldn’t have to stress on the day and it all worked out perfectly. They were blessed with such a beautiful wedding day and loved being able take their vows surrounded by all their nearest and dearest.
